More About this home
Let’s take a stroll together down a quiet dead end street in the sweet town of Goodfield, IL. You came to this town from the interstate, which exits right at the town and will take you to Peoria or Bloomington in less than 30 minutes. As you turned onto the street of West Gail, you passed the town’s little elementary school and playground. “I bet the kids in this town have a great time playing there” you think to yourself as you pulled the car over to start our stroll.
Not a single car drives by as we walk down W. Gail. A few kids ride their bikes past us and wave a friendly “hello”. They have some buddies playing a game of basketball in the driveway just down the street. Their parents allow them to play outside knowing they are safe on this quiet street where all the neighbors know each other and look out for one another. In fact, it is such a close-knit neighborhood, they have block parties and give neighborhood gifts to each other at significant life events.
The street is on the edge of town and ends at a farmer’s field. We turn around and head back the way we came. You take note of the nice ranch style homes and mature trees that line the road.
Our walk stops at the home for sale on 118 W. Gail. Like it’s neighbors, it’s a charming 1 story ranch built in the 60’s. The wide driveway leads up to an attached two car garage.
Stepping into the home, the first thing your eyes fall upon is the large built in book cases at one end of the room. They point to a time when homes were built by craftsmen and with diligent care. On the opposite wall to the bookcases is the large picture window with charming details added. The flooring in the cozy living room is newly updated vinyl, which is durable and stylish. A new coat of paint makes this an inviting space.
Just off the living room is the eat-in kitchen where you can picture the home’s occupants gathering at the start and close of each day
Off the kitchen and just down the hall a bit is the laundry/mud room and a full bathroom. “It’s so nice that this is so conveniently located.” you think to yourself.
As you come out of the laundry room you look down the long hall and are blown away by the amount of closets, built-ins, and storage space! The entire core of the house was made into an organizer’s dream. Besides the storage in the hall, you discover the attic features a floored area where larger items can be kept and the crawl space beneath the house is clean and well lit for bonus storage.
The second bathroom is much more impressive than the first. It follows the theme of the rest of the house by having a ton of extra storage and counter space. Not only that, but this bathroom has a luxurious Jacuzzi tub.
Next, you explore the 4 bedrooms. All are good sized rooms with plenty of space for either a twin or queen sized bed and a dresser. They all have good windows that let plenty of sunlight in.
The most impressive bedroom, of course, is the Master. It’s noticeably bigger than the other three bedrooms, but there is something else that makes it special. When you open the closet you are blown away by a HUGE walk-in closet area that will provide anyone with ample room for clothes, shoes, and accessories.
Further inspection on the interior of the house reveals a panel to control the lights in the entire house from just outside the master bedroom. You also find the furnace and AC were replaced in 2012 and water heater in 2014. It’s nice to not have to worry about those things.
You tour of the inside is complete, but there is one shining feature you haven’t explored yet: the backyard. Step outside from the laundry room and you’ll love the view! The yard borders a farmer’s field which provides privacy, space, and a stunning sunrise view.
As our little stroll to 118 W. Gail comes to a close and you get back into your car, you can’t help but think to yourself, “Why keep looking for a nice home in a quiet neighborhood when the perfect place is right here waiting for me?”
